"It's also worth noting that the alternative would mean that J. K. Rowling introduced a powerful new ability and didn't use it for anything more significant than nose-changing as dinner entertainment." I think that Tonks uses her skills for something a little more significant than this at some point in Order of the Phoenix to disguise herself from the Ministry or Death Eaters or something, but I don't have a page citation. Anyone? 172.168.208.194 18:19, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Um, I'm not the expert on this, but could the animal-changing bit be a difference between the books and the movies rather than "book cannon"? IsaacSapphire 01:48, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
About this ability by Daniel Jacob Kantrowitz
[edit]Well I am the first being in the entire multiverse to develop the Metamorphmagus power, and if your wondering what a Metamorphmagus's full capabilities are, read the Harry Potter fanfiction "The Accidental Animagus" basically there actually are no limitations to the power, in fact turning into animals, plants, mythical creatures, and even inanimate objects are all possible, and the only reason Nymphadora Tonks cannot access the full extent of her abilities is because of mental blocks she had been installing her whole life, for instance she doubts what she is capable of and is fears accessing any nonhuman form which is an embarrassing representation of the power, Also in terms of a known wizard in the canon books who had more skill than Nymphadora Tonks, looks at Merlin, he was known for pranking people by turning into silly forms such as dragons phoenixes unicorns a tree and especially plushies among other forms,
