Ion selective membrane separate page?

[edit]

The title of this page is Ion selective Electrode, but most of the information is about Ion selective membranes, which are not specific to ISEs. Ion selective membrane redirects to this page.

Shouldn't there be a separate page on Ion selective membranes and the relevant information extracted from this page and moved to the new one?

I am not an expert in this field, so will not make this change.

galvanometer vs potentiometer

[edit]

May be we should replace galvanometer to potentiometer because galvanometer measure small current, not potential?

--No because ISEs are hooked up to potentiometers, not galvanometers —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.151.128.100 (talk) 18:18, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hyphenation?

[edit]

A small query: should there be a hyphen in the phrase "ion-selective electrode"? I'm just wondering why the page title is without a hyphen, but hyphens are used in the body. The page Ion-selective electrode with a hyphen is redirected to this page.

I think this should be researched because it doesn't have any contents. -User:General Eisenhower

"Uses" section?

[edit]

Someone added a "see also" link to Medical technologist. Presumably on the grounds that medical technologists sometimes use ISEs. Is there value in trying to integrate that fact into the article somehow - perhaps by adding a section about "uses" (or even "users")? Seems like it'd easily turn into a difficult-to-verify list of random science-related jobs. -Jaeger5432 | Talk 19:53, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced??

[edit]

Kkmurray claims so, and I disagree. This is a well referenced article, only instead of using inline references, comrades relied on "external sources". This is quite the same, isnt it? AbuAmir (talk) 14:33, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bandwidth, speed of measurement

[edit]

I would like to see information on the response time of ion selective electrodes. This can be compared with fast scan cyclic voltammetry, for example. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arm42 (talkcontribs) 17:55, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mechanism of potential difference?

[edit]

Nowhere is explained how exactly the concentration/activity of the selected ion causes the potential difference? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:1810:4D13:9B00:6592:2D77:B22A:AE81 (talk) 17:40, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
