This is probably an issue with the fonts supplied with your web browser (computer, phone). Not every font includes the symbol as it is so rarely used. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 17:22, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've added Template:Contains special characters to the page. Bazza (talk) 17:59, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How to use interrobangs

[edit]

An interrobang is intended to be used for the use of exclamatory rhetorical questions. Here are a few examples:

He really said that‽

You can't be serius‽

They went bankrupt‽

Have fun using interrobangs! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Inoalotofinfooo (talkcontribs) 18:14, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

interrobang in chess

[edit]

In chess annotation ?! and !? are very different. The former means dubious; the latter means interesting. See, e.g., https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_annotation_symbols Rrafw (talk) 21:12, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The hatnote mentions that but I have added a brief note to the chess notation section as a 'see also'. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 01:14, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a 1925 appearance of an interrobang?

[edit]

This example is from the comic strip Gasoline Alley from July 31, 1925, and it's pretty close: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/lcehdwqv1f3elxfz2i92e/GA-interrobang-prototype-7-31-25.jpg?rlkey=up2cho2eqer7bgdd76xgux7po&st=ng77b6c5&dl=0 Joecab (talk) 19:01, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
